First foods to avoid.
Acidic foods in general are tied to inflammation and therefore arthritis.
Partially hydrogenated vegetable oil. Remember the evil trans fats? As soon as the hydrogenation process starts they should continue until it is fully or completely hydrogenated, but they don't and the resultant oil raises you bad LDL while lowering you good HDL cholesterol. Fully hydrogenated oil does not exhibit these tendencies, but unless it is explicitly stated you have to assume partial to be safe.
Polyunsaturated vegetable oils. (safflower, soybean, corn and sunflower) Polyunsaturated fats have been found to be unstable and easily damaged by oxygen. Be sure to keep your omega-3 and 6 in balance.

Fish Oil
Flax Seeds
Shitake mushrooms
Avocados
Avoid processed foods and oils.
