Don't ask me why I first put Food Inc. on my reserve list at the library but it is what started me on my journey. Many movies, research papers, books, conversations with friends later and I changed my life and the lives of my family members.
As we all know the government always does what is in the best interest of the citizens and not by the big businesses that pay the lobbyist that ply the government officials to pass their bills, or laws or to look the other way.
It is sad that the government offices that people trust to protect them cannot even do anything when these businesses flagrantly violate the law. Poison the population with e-coli or salmonella and the USDA cannot shut you down.
I feel disgusted about the fact that there has to be an ingredients list on packaged chicken breast. What should it read? Chicken. What does it read? Well that depends on the brand you are buying. The mass producing farmers are stuck in the cycle by big businesses and until the big businesses feel the pain in their mass produce pockets they will keep doing it.
Big business can do it. Look at Stonyfield yogurt, organic yogurt, owned by Dannon. The part I don't understand is that after proving the system is profitable and sustainable why continue to produce poison?
These massive farms, get fed corn and dead animals and basically everything they shouldn't. Chickens are supposed to eat insects, cows are supposed to eat grass. The risk
