Alright, I am going to plead with you, and plead with you to influence everyone you know.
I talked about stress at work and in life generally speaking, and how it affects our body as well as the diet. Well there is stress I cannot control.
I mean I have to get to work. Walk, bike, car, bus, no matter how I do it I have to go on the road.
I do not know what is happening in this country, but from my seat it looks like most of the people driving nowadays do not give a crap about anything but themselves, and even then they don't want to be bothered with the hassle of safely driving themself, someone else will watch out for them.
Look people, you passed the road test, you passed the written test, are you just becoming senile and do not remember any of that?
Speed limits are maximums. Go faster if you want, but do not ride my bumper because i choose to drive it.
The handle on your steering wheel (usually on the left side, conveniently near the 9 or 10 oclock position) is a blinker. The blinker allows the people not in your car to know what your intentions are.
Those lines on the road? Solid means you DO NOT drive over it, this goes for white and for yellow. Dashed means come on over with caution, you still need to make sure no one else is already occupying that space or trying to occupy that space.
No right on red, ummm don't turn right when the light is red, for the color blind that is almost always the top light.
The yellow light. Well I could devote paragraphs to this topic. If you think back to your written test answer the following:
You are approaching a stop light and the signal turns yellow you:
a) Hit the gas pedal
b) Continue at present speed and go through the light not worrying about the state
c) Apply your brakes and cause your vehicle to come to a stop
d) There is a yellow light on a stop light?
I really shouldn't have to provide you with an answer, feel free to message me if you need it.
Red Lights and Stop Signs. No a white border does not mean that the stop sign is optional. When coming to an all ways stop stop sign situation the first car at the signs that came to a complete stop goes first. If you tied (really? does that happen) the person on the right should win, if everyone is on everyone's right and you all think you stopped at the same time, make sure you visually confirm it is safe to proceed.
What is a complete stop? believe it or not, 1 MPH is not a complete stop. for those of you that have never experienced this without immediately throwing the car into park a complete stop is when the forward momentum of the car ceases. This is usually followed by the car shifting backwards slightly.
Realize that you are driving around in 2 tons of metal.
You can easily pulverize a person into unrecognizable mush with this.
It does not drive itself, do not do anything distracting if you are in the drivers seat: reading the newspaper, play with the radio, make phone calls, texting, sexting, play hangman, work on a Sudoku puzzle, try to figure out a new way of whipping eggs to provide that all important fluffiness to your lemon meringue pie.
You are responsible if you kill someone, think about it. Think about that little kid next door and how do you think you are going to handle life after you run him over and he dies destroying his family's lives and probably your's.
So follow the rules boys and girls.
If you are merging, that is your problem, not the person going 65.
If you are turning left (or right or going straight for that matter) you are not supposed to enter the intersection unless you can get through it.
For the love of all that is holy and good in this world, do not stop on railroad tracks.
Stop when you are told to stop.
Drive in one lane (the right one on a highway) unless you are passing someone when it is legal to pass.
Pay attention.
Slow down, of course I do like to make faces at the people that swerve in and out only for me to catch up at the next stoplight.
We have become a society of self centered, pissed off people, that are in a hurry to get no where. How much time does going 10 MPH over the speed limit save you? ot all that much unless you are driving an extremely long distance and then it will not save you much because you are going to get bored with the monotony of driving and end up doing something stupid anyways.
So pass it along, take a deep breath before taking the wheel and leave your rage at the curb. I do not want my kids killed or orphaned and I would hate
