It’s been way too long since I have had the opportunity to
write. I really need to make myself take time to do this at least once a week because it is very therapeutic. However, life gets in the way and before you know it, the day is done and I am more than ready for bed. Stress. I have had a lot of it in the past week or so. A trip to the ER with my daughter (she’s fine), my dog escaping through a window (she’s in the slow process of healing). Guilt. How I feel because I can’t do everything I need to do or be there for everyone when they need it. Most days my house looks like a train ran through it. Besides helping with marching band on Saturdays, I spend the rest of my weekends trying to get the house looking somewhat in order, clothes washed, etc.
etc. I find solace in the fact that most every working mother feels as frazzled and time deprived as I do. But I still envy those that care for their family full time. I don’t
need a maid, I need to win the lottery!
Anyway, I really want to take the time to give you an update on how my healthy lifestyle is changing my waistline. Again, not to gloat but to show you the REAL results I am achieving. I feel great in fact the best I have in years. I officially weigh in at
159 lbs. If you’re keeping score, I started at 192 this past March.
That’s 33 lbs of fat GONE!! The equivalent of a toddler. GONE! With this lost weight
comes a good problem-my pants are way too big! I haven’t bought any new clothes on
this journey because basically I am cheap, I mean thrifty. I have just suffered through the sagginess or threw on a belt. But it is now a problem. I didn’t want to spend a fortune since I don’t plan on staying at this weight for long so I decided to try the Thrifty Shopper. Yeah, I admit it. That’s where cheap people uh I mean thrifty people go to find bargains. First of all, the new store in Baldwinsville is really nice. Second, I found 5 dress pants, 1 pair of jeans (all name brand including Liz Claiborne) and some sandals (from Italy!) all for $43!! BUT that’s not the best part…the pants are size 12!!
I don’t think I have fit in 12’s since high school. At my highest, I was in size 18.
So I have officially come down 3 pant sizes!! And I am officially donating my extra grande size pants to good will:)
So folks you see you don’t have to starve yourself or do countless hours a week at the gym to lose weight and feel better. Just change the way you eat! If it comes in a box, bag or can, it most likely isn’t good for you. Eat as much fresh veges and fruit that
you can. Eat them in their most natural state. Snack on nuts. They’re filling. Eat out a lot? Stop! Eat home…make meals with your family. Take this journey together. Try it today-hey what
have you got to lose??
